Here’s one more thing to be thankful about this holiday weekend. The Bradenton to Anna Maria Island (AMI) ferry service, which has been in the final stages of development for the past six months, is now just one step away from its full launch.
The maiden launch for city officials, local media and other VIPs, a big event many have been waiting for, took place on Monday, November 20th with the boats leaving the Bradenton Riverwalk to the 35 minute ride to the Anna Maria City Pier right outside The Waterfront Restaurant.
The hard work and dedication of everyone involved are paying off, bringing us closer to enjoying the convenience and beauty of this new transportation option.
The ferry service starts for the public on December 8 and is set to operate on Fridays through Sundays, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., providing visitors and mainland locals with a convenient way to explore the area. With downtown Bradenton, AMI City Pier, and the Bridge Street Pier as the initial destinations, you’ll have easy access to some of the best spots in the region.
