The Gulf Islands Ferry, renowned for shuttling passengers from the Bradenton Riverwalk Dock to Anna Maria Island, is embarking on an exciting expansion phase. Responding to the increasing demand for alternative transportation options and the resounding success of the ferry service, plans are underway to introduce a third vessel to the fleet. This new vessel promises a larger, more comfortable journey, with approximately 90 indoor seats, ensuring a faster and more enjoyable ride for passengers.
In addition to the new vessel, discussions are in progress for additional ferry stops. Preliminary talks have been held with officials from Longboat Key, highlighting the commitment to enhancing accessibility and convenience for residents and visitors.
Currently serving approximately 375 passengers daily, the Gulf Islands Ferry provides a scenic 45-minute ride that not only offers a unique travel experience but also contributes to reducing traffic congestion, taking an estimated 175 cars off the streets each day.
