We will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday so the staff may be with their families. Wine tastings will resume next week, November 29th.
Last month we talked about some great eco-friendly Mother’s Day gifts: let’s not forget that Dads like sustainability, too. On Sunday, June 15, skip the boring ties and drugstore cologne and pick out something that really celebrates your father as well as the planet. Here’s our gift guide to get you started: Image source: Tripadvisor.com For The Outdoorsman Whether the dad in your life likes hiking, fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, or some other thrilling outdoor adventure, you’re bound to find the perfect gift at AMI Outfitters. This coastal gear and apparel shop stocks great eco-conscious brands that will make any outdoor hobbyist a (literal) happy camper. Looking for something specific? They’ll happily work with you to special order the perfect item for your special guy. The best part? If you live here on the Island, you’re supporting a local business which is one of the eco-friendliest things you can do. Image source: 390Design.com For The Homebody Is your dad a firm believer that home is where the heart is? Why not spruce up his favorite space with some gorgeous sustainable décor. Our friends at 390 Design have been turning out some stunning pieces including one featuring an inventive new take on a chevron pattern. We’re also kind of obsessed with this super-versatile Eco Living Wall from Bambeco right now. Image source: Facebook.com/WaterfrontRestaurantAMI For The Foodie Does your dad have some serious culinary chops? Head down to Three Suns Ranch in Punta Gorda and pick up grass-fed bison, grass-fed beef, or even Florida wild hog so he can do some cool cooking with unusual and sustainable ingredients. Does he prefer to let someone else do the cooking for him. Bring him on down to The Waterfront Restaurant – we’ve been serving up sustainable cuisine for over a decade, so you can be sure we’ll treat the whole family right.
This week we will have certified sommelier Michael Green of Stacole Wines with us offering six delicious Spanish wines paired with Chef Bills’ choice tapas. We will sample a Portuguese Vinho Verde (ok, we cheated a little), Spanish Verdejo, and a Muga Blanco from Rioja, and for reds a Tempranillo, Bitch Grenache (highly rated), and a blend from Campo de Borja which is cabernet based.
We will offer a sparkling prosecco, two whites – a trebbiano and a pinot grigio – followed by three reds – montepulciano, barbera and a dolcetto – all offered with some of the chefs’ superb appetizers.
We apologize for the late notice but because of inclement weather we have postponed tonight’s wine tasting until June 28th.
We will be closed September 16th through 25th for our annual cleaning and remodeling. We will reopen the restaurant on September 26th with a new “Craft Bar” serving classic cocktails as well as an assortment of handcrafted specialty drinks.
